Head of Art - German-Speaking (m/f/x)

Your role

The Head of Art is the driving force behind building and maintaining our unique visual language. As a leader within the creative department, you guide and collaborate with a diverse team of in-house as well as freelance photographers, video producers, and graphic designers. In this role, you work closely with our Head of Creative to define and implement the Kitchen Stories voice and aesthetic across the brand's touchpoint.

  • Continually drive the conception of innovative and comprehensive visual concepts to further develop the Kitchen Stories brand
  • Generate fresh ideas and facilitate brainstorming for partner campaigns and internal formats in support of overarching content strategy
  • Represent Kitchen Stories in client meetings and pitches, communicating our campaign concept and corresponding visual language clearly and effectively 
  • Provide on-set visual direction for video and photo shoots for in-house and client production services
  • Oversee the production process for graphic, photo, and video, including the prioritization of tasks and distribution of resources
  • Consult across the arts team to improve workflows that enable smooth collaboration and a consistency between disciplines
  • Develop guidelines to ensure that consistency and quality standards are met
  • Lead and develop your team by setting clear expectations, providing guidance, and empowering them with the tools and framework they need to succeed
  • Inspire artistic excellence across the creative team through regular workshops and feedback
  • Support the recruitment process by analyzing hiring needs and assessing candidates through challenges, interviews, as well as trial days
  • Keep up-to-date of industry trends in digital art, storytelling, and branding, as well as new techniques and tools
Your profile
  • Must be fluent in German with very strong English skills
  • Significant hands-on experience in photo and/or video production (both is ideal); graphic design is a plus
  • Well-versed in the Adobe suite and best case have had hands-on experience with set and lighting design
  • Experience in building pitches and creative concepts for internal and external purposes
  • Extensive experience in editorial-driven multimedia productions, ideally in advertising, social media, or another digital media platform
  • A portfolio of successful campaigns, productions, and pitches for photo and video content
  • Experience in food and lifestyle content production
  • Inspirational and creative leader with the ability to express ideas clearly, see the big picture, and motivate others to bring out their full potential
  • Enjoy working hands-on in a dynamic, multi-faceted team
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience
